Two decades of war obliterated the government's infrastructure in South Sudan, leaving an estimated ten million people to lack basic services such as electricity, quality healthcare, food security, education, clean water, sanitation, etc.. At the end of the conflict, re-establishing the provision of basic services was vital to rebuilding the lives of communities and raising South Sudan’s population out of chronic poverty. VNB Consultancy Limited, Foreign Nations, Donor Aid Agencies, and Multi-Lateral Agencies have played pivotal role in ensuring that existential challenges faced by average southern Sudanese are minimized through the provision of basic services and transparent spending of grants and aid made available to ensure food security, building of schools, hospitals, mobile hospitals, rural clinics, water pumps, latrines, and procure classroom furniture, hospital furniture, textbooks, computers, pharmaceutical drugs, medical equipment and devices, agricultural machinery and implements, etc. So far, over three million Southern Sudanese in rural communities have benefited from basic services sponsored by foreign governments, multi-lateral agencies, and donor aid agencies. These initiatives have contributed to reduction in infant mortality rates, an increase in routine vaccination coverage, higher enrolment rates at primary schools, and greater access among the rural population to electricity, food security, quality healthcare delivery, clean water, etc. In the same vein, training and enlightenment workshops at various levels are periodically organized for teachers, nurses, midwives, doctors, population/census ad-hoc staffs and civil servants. who would, in the long term, assume responsibility for maintaining services provided by donor agencies. The VNB Consultancy Management Team has laid a solid foundation for rigorous monitoring and evaluation of projects execution in accordance with international best practice.
